When the Room Inspires the Tree

A look back at one of our favorite Christmas trees, inspired by the artwork and colors already woven throughout our client’s home.

Some Christmas projects just stick with you. This was one of them.

My client loved Christmas and hosted a huge Christmas party every year — complete with bagpipers! This was one of our first Wubby Designs projects where we were asked to source everything — five Christmas trees, garlands, and décor throughout the house. Everything needed to work with the style of the home, but still feel festive for his big Christmas party.

This tree was one of my favorites.

It was in the “golf room,” and instead of decorating it like the other trees in the house, we pulled our colors directly from the artwork on the walls. The paintings were some of his favorite pieces, so we used those beautiful greens, soft blues, creams, and touches of gold as our inspiration.

I love when we can pull inspiration from something already in the home and make the Christmas décor feel like it was meant to be there. This one did exactly that — and all these years later, it’s still one of my favorite trees.
